Relations with Azerbaijan
Australia and Azerbaijan share a constructive bilateral relationship, having established diplomatic relations in 1992.
Australia recognises the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and supports the ongoing efforts of the governments of Azerbaijan and Armenia towards a just and lasting peace.
Azerbaijan has an Embassy in Canberra, and Australia’s Ambassador to Türkiye has non-resident accreditation to Azerbaijan.
Parliamentary delegations have visited each other’s countries. Both countries’ parliaments have parliamentary friendship groups. The Azerbaijani community in Australia underpin our people-to-people links.
